Angela Young is the Community Coordinator of the QUT Foundry at our Gardens Point Campus. Angela acts as a significant connector to people and resources, as well as coaching and mentoring startups herself.
Angela has substantial experience, having been a co-founder of a private equity firm which, via a series of mergers and acquisitions, grew into a leading international consumer electronics group of companies. After taking nine years to grow the business, Angela experienced first hand how a company of that size still isn’t bullet proof, seeing it disappear under a complex set of circumstances. She is passionate and open about sharing her lived experience to help others avoid the same pitfalls.
A super connector and a mentor, Angela is passionate about activating and accelerating startups and their founders. She has worked across QUT in a variety of roles including the Executive Assistant to the former Vice Chancellor. Angela has a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Communications and Psychology.
