Craig leads the Office of the Queensland Chief Entrepreneur whose role it is to support and assist Queensland’s most innovative start-ups and scale-up. Here, Craig supports companies to develop their business plans, navigate new and emerging sectors of industry, develop relationships with universities and the corporate sector, to raise growth capital, while encouraging them to expand internationally. Craig also encourages global investors to invest into Queensland startups.
Previously Craig worked for the UK Government as the Head of Office, British Consulate Brisbane and as the Director of Investment for the UK Department for International Trade for Australia and New Zealand. Here, Craig was a member of the trade policy working-group for the future free trade agreement between the UK and Australia and relationship managed Australian superannuation fund investments into the UK. Craig also led the foreign direct investment process for Australian and New Zealand companies to establish and open new footprints in UK.
Prior to this Craig was Associate Director, Fund Management at Prudential M&G in London and invested c.$1bn into real assets across the UK. Craig is a qualified Chartered Surveyor and studied at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh and attended Hills Road College, Cambridge. Craig received an MBE from HM The Queenin 2019 for services to Australia-UK Relations and International Trade.
