As the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Law at QUT and previously the foundation Dean of Swinburne Law School, Dan produces a new type of tech-savvy and innovation-enabled law graduate. Dan is a chief investigator on the $32M ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society, and the founder and co-host of The Future of Law Podcast. He has been on the founding teams of three start-ups – Quitch in education technology, Settle Easy in legaltech, and Fourth Line in regtech (and is about to launch a new regtech startup). Dan holds a PhD from Cambridge on cognitive science and legal reasoning, as well as computer science and law degrees from Monash University and a Master of Laws from the University of Melbourne.
