
Timothy is a Founder Partner at QUT Entrepreneurship and looks after the QUT Foundry at Kelvin Grove (Room R224, between R and E Blocks).
Timothy is a growth catalyst driven by community, helping to develop growing entrepreneurs and building capacity for startups. Tim holds various roles across the startup ecosystem, stretching across policy to venture building.
Timothy specialises in venture capital investments - from discovery, due diligence, deal structuring, negotiation, portfolio management, board governance, and positioning for exit. For over 3 years, Tim was the Programs & Investment Associate at QUT Creative Enterprise Australia - a private subsidiary of QUT supporting creative ventures grow through capability and capacity building. He was instrumental to the establishment of CEA's Collider Accelerator from program development to delivery, and all pre-seed investments.
Timothy is a regular facilitator in startup methodologies, growth marketing, and MBA guest lecturer in venture capital. Furthermore, Tim has been exposed to digital strategy, corporate innovation and medical devices (both with regards to design and implementation).
Timothy is a graduate from QUT with a Bachelor of Business (Management) and Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)(Medical). As a result, he approaches every business with a deeply analytical assessment and commercial viability in mind.
Tim was a Founding Executive of QUT Starters - a Queensland University of Technology student society that worked towards fostering entrepreneurs. Since 2014, he has helped to build Brisbane's early-stage startup ecosystem through advocacy, countless events and workshops. His most notable achievements include being the Director of Startup Hatch and co-architect of Disrupting Law. Startup Hatch is a student pre-cellerator program turning students from being observers into achievers, which highlighted student demand for entrepreneurship in university.
Furthermore, Timothy worked with Storyboard Social - a mobile application connecting rich media with context to tell stories and journeys. Within the first 3 weeks of launching in the Australian iOS App Store, we have over 1.6 million in-app interactions and been featured under "New App We Love" by Apple.
